Community and Parent Liaison

Job PurposeThe Community and Parent Liaison is responsible for coordinating and evaluating ongoing communication with partners and stakeholders for CSUSA to secure opportunities that can meet the needs of parents and students.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesResponsible for regular contact with all stakeholdersDevelop, cultivate, and coordinate all internal and external partnerships with all stakeholdersManage the development of community partnerships with the assistance of the teachersPlan and manage all enrollment/information fairs and other promotional eventsPlan, coordinate, and manage all parent events in accordance with Title IFormulate strategic plan to increase parental and community involvement within the school environmentDevelopment of Community Programs that promote higher achievement for students Understanding of Title I, Title II, and School Improvement Grant requirements and compliance to ensure all necessary documents are created, implemented and archived.Creation of Newsletters and other communications as needed throughout school yearWeekly reports of activities and events to administrationIncrease community partnerships with development of goals for these partnerships in relationship to school strategic plan and school goalsDirect involvement in student recruitment with direction from administration and CSUSARecruit Parent Ambassadors to serve as parent leaders and advocates for the schoolDevelop incentive programs to support students and parents as needed by schoolCreate reports as needed by State, Federal and school organizationsRecruit community and stakeholder volunteers Recruit prospective students Make connections with communityHost family nights each month Recruit and develop resources for stakeholder supportMAY PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED** Skills And KnowledgeMultifunctional integration of skillsEffectively exercise power to make those decisions only the leader can make.Effectively articulate the vision of CSUSADevelop projects and extrapolate skills where he/she has not had experiencePoses perceptive questions and understands the "why" of our workHas capacity to conceive and manage change, as opposed to stewardship over the status quoEffectively understanding of the dynamics of an inner-city turnaround academySensitive to the practical politics of CSUSA and the turnaround academiesCapacity to effectively manage community and stakeholder relations and partnershipsCapacity for being a self-starterCapacity enable others through leading, teaching, mentoring, and coaching - this includes teachers, entire staff, and all school community stakeholdersPossess basic language skills consistent with a high school education, including writing and speaking.Possesses knowledge and demonstrates understanding of the rules of spelling, punctuation and grammar.Has the ability to write legibly.Has the ability to communicate effectively with adults in a variety of settings.Possesses mathematical skills which must include basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, computation, and problem solving. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Charter Schools USA.FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY Job is exempt from the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.EVALUATION Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Charter Schools USA's policy.DECLARATION The Charter Schools USA Human Resources Department retains the sole right and discretion to make changes to this job description.
