Structural Design Engineer ResponsibilitiesDesign steel cold box structures, pipe racks, and all other structural elements of process plantsProduce plan, section, and elevation drawings of structures with sufficient detail needed for vendor bid packages and for vendors to produce fabrication drawingsPerform lateral and gravity analysis on structures to validate designsDevelop shipping and lifting requirements for equipment from 5 to 500 metric tonsMake technical recommendations and review vendor drawings and specifications and shop drawingsFollow established AISC ASCE, IBC, and ACI standardsstandardsParticipate in departmental training programs/seminars and on-line trainingEnsure projects comply to schedule and budgetary requirementsWork efficiently as part of a team with leadership and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Resolve technical project issues, reviewing and making quality recommendationsThe ideal candidate should be a self-starter with solid planning and organizational skillsQualificationsDegree in mechanical engineering or relatedProficiency in 3D (CADWorx a plus) to move drawing to other disciplines Piping, Equipment ect) and AutoCADExperience with cryogenic piping, cold boxes, and the Industrial Gases Industry is a plusExperience with Robot, Tekla, and/or other industry standard structural design softwareExperience with Hilti design software and RAM Connection softwareUnderstanding of pipe stress and pipe supportsBasic computer literacy - Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).Excellent organization and communication skills.Ability to function in a team environment across multiple disciplinesPE license a plus
