In this position, you will partner with customers on enterprise database design and implementation strategies while applying Esri technology best practices. You will consult with customers to understand business and technical requirements, design enterprise data management strategies, and implement those strategies throughout the engagement life cycle. You will work both independently and as part of project teams to configure back-end geospatial database management capabilities that support customer workflows utilizing ArcGIS web, desktop, and mobile applications.This team supports Defense and Intel clients. You will be part of a talented cross-functional team of dynamic and passionate engineers to deliver capabilities that enable our customers to make a difference in communities around the world. You will be part of a team that influences lasting contributions for communities with the solutions you provide.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement robust, scalable, and secure database solutions to support mission-critical applicationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams during all phases of implementation including requirements, analysis, design, build/configuration, and deploymentConfigure and maintain database environments, including backup, restore, high-availability, and disaster recovery strategiesMonitor and tune database performance using industry-standard tools and methodologies (such as query optimization, indexing strategies)Implement data security measures, access controls, and compliance standards across environmentsAutomate routine database loading, maintenance, and monitoring tasks to improve efficiencyProvide technical guidance and best practices for database design, migration, and integration projectsRequirementsUS citizen8+ years of hands-on experience in database design, administration, and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANADemonstrated experience with database design principles, data loading techniques, backup and recovery solutions, performance monitoring and tuning, database maintenance, and securityScripting skills in SQL and Python for automation and data workflowsExperience with cloud-based database solutions (such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)Understanding of geospatial concepts such as spatial data types, coordinate systems, and spatial indexingAbility to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical peers and non-technical project managers or customersUS citizenship with Active or Current (within 2 years of active) Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibilityBachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or related STEM fieldCompanyJob Type: Full-timePay: commensurate with experienceCompetitive benefits packageNIS Overview NIS is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business with an emphasis on Federal government opportunities in support of the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community and State and local government.
