Job DescriptionThe DevSecOps Architect - Toolchain Support & Consulting contributes to the design, development, and maintenance of embedded firmware solutions across Agilent's product portfolio. This role partners closely with firmware, software, hardware, and test teams to deliver robust, compliant, and scalable embedded systems while supporting toolchain optimization, automation, and secure development practices.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute across all phases of the product development lifecycle, including concept, design, implementation, verification, and releaseAnalyze and translate system-level, hardware, electronics, and customer requirements into clear technical specifications and interface definitionsDesign, develop, and unit test embedded firmware modules in collaboration with firmware and software architectsSupport development and automation of verification strategies by partnering with test engineers on test cases and frameworksDevelop and maintain technical documentation in accordance with QMS processes and applicable regulatory standardsDebug complex system issues and perform structured root cause analysisPartner with architecture teams to resolve high-impact design and development challenges for new and existing productsCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, including mechanical, electrical, software, and test disciplinesCoordinate with other functions, such as manufacturing, marketing, and customer support, as neededSupport design transfer activities and assist with field or service escalations when requiredMonitor industry technology trends and assess opportunities to improve development efficiency, including appropriate use of automation and AI-enabled toolsQualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline8+ years of relevant experience in embedded or firmware developmentDemonstrated experience contributing to architecture, design, and implementation of embedded systemsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently while contributing effectively within a cross-functional team environmentExperience participating in at least one full product development lifecycle (concept through release preferred)Required Technical SkillsStrong proficiency in C/C++ for RTOS-based embedded systemsExperience with embedded communication interfaces such as SPI and I2CWorking knowledge of object-oriented design principlesProficiency with Git or similar source control systemsAbility to interpret schematics, data sheets, and hardware documentation for microprocessors, peripherals, and related componentsHands-on experience using laboratory test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, debuggers, and protocol analyzersWorking proficiency in Python for tooling, automation, and test workflowsExperience developing software and documentation within regulated environments (e.g., FDA, IEC 62304, or similar quality systems)Preferred / Additional SkillsExposure to analog electrical engineering concepts, including signal conditioning, ADC/DAC interfaces, and sensor or detector electronicsExperience with CAN-based systemsFamiliarity with secure development practices, CI/CD pipelines, or DevSecOps tooling in embedded environmentsAdditional DetailsThis job has a full time weekly schedule. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
