Medical Assistant - Orthopedics/Sports MedicineChristie at the Fields (LLC) - Champaign, IL 61822Salary Range $17.53 - $24.10 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Shift 1st Shift Education Level High School Category Medical AssistingGeneral Summary of DutiesChristie Clinic's department of Orthopedics/Sports Medicine is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (Sign-On Bonus Available) at the Fields clinic from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements. This position may require the ability to travel to Danville or Bloomington, as needed, to support the department.Duties include the performance of skills through the delivery of patient care using a systematic patient assessment.Job Qualifications and ExpectationsJOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments prior to appointment. Clean and restock following appointment.Assist patient to exam room, take vitals, weight and height of patient. Enter information into the electronic medical record.Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit including allergies, medications, etc. and enter into the electronic medical record.Flag appropriate room for provider to see patient.Assist with procedures during appointment.Remove sutures, staples, etc., as needed.Perform dressing changes.Remove/reapply casts.Review online transcription prior to patient appointment and update during appointment as necessary.Order and maintain relevant office supplies for department effectiveness.Educate patients regarding medications, injections, dressings, etc.Complete chart preparation and prepare x-ray orders, as needed.Address the "D" & "L" jellybeans.Check RX LineFill our requirements for FMLAPerform related work as required.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalentCertified Nurse Assistant Certificate and/or graduation from an accredited program for medical assistantsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Previous health care experienceCERTIFICATE/LICENSE:CPR CertificationTYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, a normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Requirements may include working irregular hours.PAY AND BENEFITS:The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
