Electronic Systems Technician
Position Overview
The Critical Systems Technician III, HVAC will serve as the lead technician for all CPG mission-critical mechanical services and maintenance under contract. The role involves monitoring compliance with contractual commitments and providing guidance, leadership, and expertise related to the installation, service, maintenance, and operation of mission-critical data center mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities
All responsibilities of HVAC Tech 2.
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, routine and emergency repairs without supervision on HVAC equipment, including but not limited to:
Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers
Centrifugal and screw package chillers
Natural gas boilers and unit heaters
Electric duct heaters
Cooling towers
Pneumatic, DDC, and Variable Frequency Drive controls
HVAC air distribution systems, AHU's, FCU's, fans, and other devices used in air distribution
Various types of water pumps used in the HVAC industry
Maintain, upgrade, and backup Building Automation Software as required.
Respond to after-hours calls as required.
Supervise and teach lower-grade technicians while improving own technical skills through experience and literature.
Perform on-call after-hour assignments.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Additional Requirements
Must be a US citizen.
Able to obtain security clearance is preferred.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Successful completion of basic air-conditioning theory class.
Proficient in the use of HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.
Experience with DDC, pneumatic, and variable frequency drive controls.
Minimum of 7 years large commercial HVAC service experience required; 8 years preferred.
Pass or complete any required client background checks or training.
Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification required.
Current/active AZ Journeyman HVAC license required.
OSHA Certification required.
Clear and valid Virginia or Maryland driver's license required.
US citizen and able to obtain security clearance is preferred.
No supervisory responsibilities with this position.
Physical demands: regularly required to sit; standing and walking required; moderate noise level; ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Compensation
Pay Range: $56,602 – $84,903 per hour.
