Application Deadline: Monday, October 21st
Position Summary
Are you passionate about supporting youth and families in accessing critical mental health services? We're looking for a Behavioral Health Intake Specialist to join our team! In this role, you’ll split your time between two vital functions: coordinating mental health services for students and supporting suicide prevention training programs. You’ll work closely with both our clinical team and the Youth SAVE Project Director to ensure smooth program delivery and compassionate care for our community.

Intake Coordination:
Serve as the primary point of contact for students seeking mental health services, processing referrals, and determining service eligibility.
Provide compassionate support and guidance to students and their families, helping them understand available mental health services and treatment options.
Manage and respond to inquiry calls promptly, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up for all referrals.
Conduct comprehensive initial screenings to assess mental health concerns, gather client history, and determine the appropriate level of care.
Schedule and coordinate care screenings within 24 hours of initial contact, ensuring students are connected to the right resources as quickly as possible.
Maintain confidential and detailed client records, including referral information, screening results, and communications with healthcare providers.
Assist in referring clients to community mental health services or other resources as needed, ensuring a smooth handoff to the appropriate level of care.
Coordinate with insurance companies to obtain service pre-certifications and work closely with the billing department to manage client payer information.
Track and report on referral data, communicating updates to supervisors during weekly meetings.
Project Coordination:
Support the Youth SAVE initiative by coordinating virtual suicide prevention training logistics, including scheduling, managing Zoom sessions, and troubleshooting technical issues during 7-hour training sessions.
Work closely with the Youth SAVE Project Director to ensure smooth execution of training sessions and assist in responding to training requests from community partners.
Manage logistics for monthly Learning Community gatherings and support the ongoing improvement of Youth SAVE training materials and curriculum.
Monitor and update the continuing education process with NASW Oregon to ensure compliance with requirements.
Serve as a liaison between the Youth SAVE program and schools, mental health providers, and nonprofit partners, attending community meetings as needed to represent the project.
Assist with the recruitment and onboarding process for new Youth SAVE trainers, coordinating Training of Trainers events and maintaining an updated roster of active trainers.
Provide language assistance coordination for individuals with limited English proficiency, ensuring inclusive access to all services and training programs.
Collaborate with the Marketing Specialist to update the Youth SAVE webpage and ensure program visibility.
Assist in preparing quarterly and annual reports for the Oregon Health Authority, supporting the program’s evaluation and reporting efforts.
