Job Title: Farm Administrative Assistant Seasonal Department: Produce Location: 752 Mayall Rd. New Gloucester, ME Reports To: Assistant Farm Manager Status: Hourly Wage/Salary: $19.00 SUMMARY Pineland Farms Produce Division is looking for summer office assistants. This is a great position for someone looking for either part-time weekend work or a full-time summer position with some weekend time included. Daily shifts will change with the season, starting 6 am-1 pm in June with strawberries and moving to 8 am-3 pm in July-October as loading trucks and generating invoices shift to later in the day. Computer competency and customer service skills are required. Adaptability and flexibility make the job much more enjoyable, and a drive to contribute is a must as a member of our team. This position is full of potential to learn new skills you can take into any future field or to apply existing skills to a flexible summer position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Help customers in person and by phone. Generate invoices in QuickBooks. Assist in farm-wide communication. Pack and/or deliver produce. Retrieve and load produce for customers. Inventory of product and resources. Payroll, filing, copying, receiving payments. Small cleaning/tidying tasks. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School or GED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Proficient in Microsoft suite required Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion Ability to work as a member of a team and ability to work independently Valid driver’s license and a clear driving record LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations. The employee is could occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
