Job Description We are seeking a Senior Principal Architect to add to our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead and drive the engineering team responsible for designing, implementing, and securing Microsoft Cloud-based solutions based on Azure, Entra, M365, and more. Your primary responsibility is to work with customers to identify their cloud and cybersecurity needs, and rapidly iterate from concept, to requirements, to delivered solution. You fuse a keen sense of empathy for the customers challenges with your hands-on expertise with cloud and security solutions to delight the customer. Duties and Responsibilities Identify Customer Requirements: Meet with customers to understand and capture their current challenges and opportunities. Develop Solutions: Ideate, architect and design solutions to meet customer needs, accounting for functional requirements, scalability, performance, cost, resilience, and security needs. Drive down risk: based on your many years of IT, cloud, and cybersecurity experience, examine the challenges in getting from today to the future. Collaborate effectively: Work with customers to transform your shared vision to requirements; partner with sales, developers, engineering, and customer team members to solve issues and provide sustainable solutions. Drive tangible results: Estimate development costs and the delivery schedule, including identifying critical paths to ensure successful delivery under budget. Draft and refine systems design, architecture diagrams, design artifacts, and presentations to meet project requirements. Deliver Value: Through implementing prototype, concept, and initial solutions in cloud environments. Required Skills 10+ Years experience building on prem and Azure-based IT solutions in large scale enterprise and production environments. Proven track record of driving major IT projects: Connecting requirements with design patterns and technologies Driving down cost, schedule, and performance risks in technical projects Conveying vision through written and verbal communications Required Qualifications 8 years industry experience in cybersecurity, information technology, cloud, or related roles. Bachelors degree in engineering, Computer Science, or other similar related field, or five additional years of equivalent experience. You are expected to enhance this role with diverse experiences in IT and cybersecurity. You must have held a past role in ONE OR MORE, but not necessarily all, of the following areas: Past technical people management experience Hands-on experience building IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services in Azure Past hands-on experience working in a cybersecurity operations center (SOC, CSOC, DCO, defensive cyber operations, etc.) Past role(s) serving as an architect or lead designer on a complex IT, cybersecurity, or cloud project Past roles working in or around the US department of defense (DoD) Past roles where you were accountable for writing and editing large technical deliverables: technical/functional requirements, design specs, and design documents, model-based system engineering (MBSE), DoDAF modeling, or other diagramming. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. Additional Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with popular Azure services and components such as KeyVault, LogicApps, NSGs, Event Hub, ExpressRoute, Defender, Kubernetes Sentinel, Log Analytics, SQL Database, Blob Storage, Functions, and the like Sound understanding of network protocols/services and network infrastructures. Strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills. Capability to independently complete project tasks with minimal supervision. DevOps and DevSecOps leadership, such as defining and leading sprints and Agile scrum, including hands-on work with JIRA or Azure DevOps (ADO) Self-motivated, highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task.
