This is a very flexible position designed to give the Intern a basic understanding of various technical aspects of the power generation industry. The Intern will receive preliminary orientation and training and then assigned to a variety of support tasks at various departments as required.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerform routine or daily tasks in support of the department they are assigned toPerform basic technical calculations as requiredComplete reports and documentation as assignedLearn and contribute to various computer based programsLearn basic operating principles of the department(s) they are assigned toActively contribute to problem solving and process improvementsMust be able to travel to various work locations and operate a motor vehicle within onsite premisesMust be able to operate a vehicle in a safe mannerOTHER RESPONSIBILITIESOther responsibilities as assigned which may include but not be limited to computer applications, light mechanical or electrical maintenanceEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIREDMust have at least 2 years of college education towards an engineering degreeMust be self-motivatedMust be able to operate a motor vehicle in a safe mannerAbility to work alone or in a teamMust have the ability to read, write and speak English at a level that will permit the employee to understand and communicate information in a manner that will enable the employee to safely and efficiently perform the job dutiesMust possess at any time a valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable to ORMAT's auto insurance carrierPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to work in plant operating areas including exposure to noise, vibrations, heat and coldMust be able to wear any required protective equipment, as required by safety procedures and regulationsMust be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions and 50 pounds from the floor to the waistJob requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time with moderate bending, stooping, and kneelingThe ability to work at a computer and computer monitor and use repetitive motion for long periods of time
