Accounting Manager

Summary: The Accounting Manager oversees the organization's daily accounting operations. This includes monthly close, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable departments. The Accounting Manager also helps guide a company's strategic financial decisions and is integral to the Company’s financial health. Their responsibility is to establish, monitor, and enforce financial policies and procedures used to monitor and verify the Company’s financial condition. This person will streamline our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. The Accounting Manager will also produce thorough financial-status reports for leadership to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead Accounting Staff: Recruit, hire, and supervise accounting staff. Conduct performance evaluations, coordinate training programs, and identify training needs. Oversees an organization's daily accounting operations, including bookkeeping, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Oversee the company’s cost accounting function, to ensure company’s profitability and inventory cost by product code is accurate Establish, monitor, and enforce financial policies and procedures used to monitor and verify the Company’s financial condition. Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to local, state and national accounting standards Monitor company performance by review of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements on a timely basis, and use this information to provide clear financial guidance to the company’s leadership. Streamline our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. Create reports that can be automatically generated for consistent usage and ease of data for upper management Perform other tasks as directed by management Supervisory Responsibilities: The Accounting Manager oversees all employees involved in the accounting process, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory and compliance. Required skills and qualifications: Five or more years of professional accounting experience Proficient in Microsoft office – Teams, Excel, Outlook, Word Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis Working knowledge of national and local accounting regulations and compliance reporting Experience in managing payroll, with focus on streamlining accounting processes Strong attention to detail Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Analytical and numerical skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant) Work Environment: This role primarily operates in a production environment.
