Rather than focusing on academic theory, we build practical, reliable infrastructure that serves as the core of how a business operates.Job SummaryWe are looking for a hands-on technical leader to serve as the Vice President of Data Science and Engineering. This hybrid role spans data engineering, analytics, and system design, with a heavy emphasis on building high-performance data warehouses and pipelines. You will own the data lifecycle end-to-end—from ingestion and transformation to driving AI-based workflows on top of structured datasets.Key ResponsibilitiesPipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT workflows and orchestration processes using SQL and Python.Data Modeling: Architect and manage cloud-based data warehouses to turn fragmented operational and financial data into reliable sources of truth.System Integration: Build secure, reliable connectivity across diverse operating systems (ERP, CRM, etc.) using APIs, exports, and automated ingestion methods.Technical Strategy: Partner with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into technical data solutions and internal standards.IP Development: Help shape the firm’s internal tools, templates, and proprietary monitoring systems from the ground up.Requirements:Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.Experience: 4–10 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data science, with a proven track record of operating independently.Core Technical Skills: Strong, hands-on mastery of SQL (advanced queries and modeling) and Python for data processing.Infrastructure: Extensive experience with cloud data platforms (such as Snowflake) and production pipeline orchestration.Communication: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and work directly with clients.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with financial or operational datasets.Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) for downstream analytics.Background in consulting or client-facing environments.Interest in implementing applied AI tools and automated workflows.Benefits:Competitive Compensation: High-ownership role with a salary and package commensurate with executive-level responsibility.Work-Life Balance: A high-trust environment with reasonable hours and a direct, plain-spoken culture.Professional Impact: The opportunity to help shape the technical foundation and internal IP of a growing firm from the ground floor.Location & Culture: Based in a vibrant Brooklyn office with a focus on in-person collaboration and minimal travel.Leadership: Direct access to founding partners with extensive business and investment experience.
