Maintenance Technician- Nights

SUMMARYRepairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, production machines and equipment. Performs advanced troubleshooting, works with general supervision and may provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of production or processing equipment; observes and listens to operating machines, mechanical devices or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. May use hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools; replaces defective part with new part or repairs.Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, tool maker, maintenance lead/supervisor, to diagnose malfunction.Troubleshoot, upgrade, and repair machine control circuitry/controls.Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, electrical multi-meter, gages, etc.May initiate purchase order for parts and machines.Performs routine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled and required for TPM.May be assigned to a specific area of the business i.e., Can Making, Can Filling or General MaintenanceWorks individually and as a team to develop and implement quality and efficiency improvements.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Possesses all basic and some advanced skills and knowledge. Has a thorough understanding of the total process flow.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions and decimals. Ability and understanding of various measuring devices in meeting drawing dimensions and specifications. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Personal Competencies:Sets good examples for others, good role model. Uses judgment and tact.EDUCATIONHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with production processes, machines and/or tools.Certificates, Licenses and Training:Requires forklift, crane and hoist certification.Computer Skills:
