Senior Paralegal

The Gilchrist Law Firm, P.A. is a growing professional services and legal support organization providing administrative, operational, compliance, and litigation support services to government and private sector clients nationwide. Our team supports complex federal and organizational operations through strategic analysis, policy development, compliance advisory services, and mission-focused professional support.We are currently seeking a Paralegal Specialist III, who will provide advanced litigation and legal support in connection with debt collection, financial litigation, asset recovery, and judgment enforcement matters. This role supports attorneys in managing complex legal matters involving civil and criminal debt enforcement actions, legal research, case management, and litigation support activities in a fast-paced federal legal environment.This position is performed onsite in Jackson, Mississippi. Occasional local travel may be required in support of case-related activities.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare substantive legal documents, including motions, writs of execution, garnishments, liens, and post-judgment filings.Conduct interviews with debtors, employers, agency representatives, and related parties regarding collection and enforcement matters.Review, analyze, and summarize financial records, public records, credit reports, and debtor information.Assist attorneys with enforcement of criminal and civil judgments, restitution orders, settlements, and collection actions.Conduct legal research and summarize statutes, regulations, case law, and procedural requirements relevant to assigned matters.Process and manage debt collection claims referred by federal client agencies.Trace assets and support lien enforcement and judgment recovery efforts.Maintain organized litigation files, exhibits, and supporting documentation.Update and manage case information within automated legal databases and tracking systems.Monitor legal deadlines and assist with timely filing and case progression.Coordinate with the United States Probation Office and other agencies regarding compliance, payment status, and collection efforts.Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports related to litigation support and debt collection activities.Communicate professionally with attorneys, court personnel, agencies, and stakeholders regarding assigned matters.Perform additional litigation support and administrative duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsAssociate degree in Paralegal Studies; ORBachelor’s degree with an additional paralegal certification; ORTwo-year degree with an additional paralegal certificate.Experience supporting litigation, debt collection, legal enforcement, or financial recovery matters.Experience tracing assets, enforcing liens, or supporting judgment enforcement activities.Strong legal research, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal document preparation.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a deadline-driven legal environment.Valid U.S. driver’s license or reliable transportation.Ability to successfully complete and maintain a federal background investigation, including a High-Risk National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).Preferred QualificationsBackground in accounting, finance, or financial analysis.Experience using legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.Prior experience supporting federal litigation or government legal operations.Familiarity with automated legal case management systems and litigation databases.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementThe Gilchrist Law Firm, P.A. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to creating an inclusive and professional work environment for all employees and applicants.
