Desktop Support Engineer

We are an MSP Mentor Top 100 company looking for an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to join our Service Desk team. The successful candidate is a disciplined, self-motivated engineer who enjoys working with people as much as he or she enjoys working with technology, servers and applications.ResponsibilitiesIT Support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications and operating systemsTechnical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and securityRemote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services, and CitrixSystem documentation maintenance and review in ConnectWiseCommunication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outagesEscalate service requests that require Escalation Specialist level supportTaking support calls live for immediate triageParticipates in on-call rotation as scheduledSkills Desired3 years or more of IT experience in a support role.Strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to switch tasks frequently.Solid network troubleshooting skills- TCP/IP concepts and LAN/WAN issuesMicrosoft certifications a significant advantage.Knowledge in all supported Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 7,8, 8.1 and 10, Server 2008-2016) and Office products.Experience with Office 365 administrationExperience with Windows Active Directory (User and Group Creation & Administration, GPOs.)Functional knowledge of Microsoft Exchange on premise and cloudExperience troubleshooting issues related to DHCP & DNSAbility to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to local and network printing.Strong Mobile device experience in relation to setup and email configuration.Experience with AV and AntiMalware products including ESET, MalwareBytes, Symantec, AVG and othersExperience with Sonicwall firewalls a plus.Experience with Cisco ASA Firewalls and switches a plus.Experience with Connectwise and Kaseya a significant advantage.Apple experience is a desirable but not requiredThis is a full time, permanent position.
