Established in 1949, the Kurita Group is comprised of an international network of approximately 8000 employees located in 18 countries.Located in Minneapolis, MN, Kurita America brings innovations to market through a holistic water management approach, incorporating state-of-the art equipment, chemistries, engineering, and services to conserve natural resources for a better, more sustainable world.Kurita's corporate philosophy is to study the properties of water, master them and create an environment in which nature and humanity are in harmony.Title: Quality Inspector (Contract Role 3-6 months)Location: Brooklyn Park MNCompensation: $45 to $55/hrResponsibilitiesConduct visual inspections of welds to ensure compliance with industry standards and specificationsReview welding procedures and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirementsProvide guidance and support to welding personnel to ensure that welding activities are performed in accordance with industry standards and specificationsPrepare inspection reports and maintain accurate records of all welding activities and submit them to the manager.Collaborate with other departments to ensure that welding activities are integrated into the overall project planInspection of fabricated vessels and skidded systemsInstallation of internal vessel components and assembliesSubmits inspection, photos, and other reports as required for each inspectionMaintain good working relationships with supplier quality control personnelIn-house inspection of fabricated partsIn-house fabrication of PVC internal vessel components and assembliesReview welding procedures and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirementProvide guidance and support to welding personnel to ensure that welding activities are performed in accordance with industry standards and specificationsQualificationsEducation: Diploma from trade school, preferably in welding.Experience: 5-7 years working in a manufacturing environmentExperience of inspection of PVDF/PP piping welding for high purity (Semiconductor project) application.Experience of inspection of PVC piping bonding.AWS - Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)Knowledge of Welding procedure specification (WPS), Welder qualification test record (WQTR), Procedure qualification record (PQR).Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)Nondestructive Testing (NDT) certified.Excellent knowledge of ASME B31.3Must have knowledge of ASTM, ASME and D1.1.National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE)Proficient in Computers and MS-OfficeAble to read and interpret engineering drawings.Familiar with mechanical measuring equipment and tools.Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities
