Job DescriptionTechnology CoordinatorOrganization SummaryGreen Woods Charter School (GWCS) provides children in grades K through 8 with the opportunity to be active, knowledgeable, and conscientious young investigators by fostering a keen understanding of the interdependence of and our impact on our local and global existence; creating active young stewards of the natural world. GWCS serves children primarily in the Roxborough, Manayunk, East Falls, and Germantown neighborhoods of Philadelphia.Position Summary:The Technology Coordinator will serve as the “point person” in the development and support of the use of information technologies. The Technology Coordinator will be responsible for researching, recommending, promoting, and providing training for existing and emerging technologies and guiding their integration into the curriculum and enhancing instructional, productivity, and communication strategies. As the driver of technology advancement, coordination, and support, the Coordinator manages and communicated the “big picture” technology vision of the school while supporting the day-to-day steps to get there. As an Administrative Team Member, the Coordinator will promote meaningful and relevant technology in the school. Expectations include working with school leadership in the implementation of programmatic, curricular, financial, operational, and administrative initiatives. The Technology Coordinator will report to the Chief Operating Officer.Duties and Responsibilities:Serve as the primary contact for all school technology-related services and supportOversee the management, deployment, maintenance, repair, inventory, and replacement of all student and staff technology devices, including iPads, Chromebooks, and MacBooksMaintain and support core technology infrastructure and systems, including wireless and wired networks, internet connectivity, printing systems, VoIP phones, instructional software platforms, and school safety systems such as cameras, access control, and visitor managementCoordinate and support all technology operations related to state testing, E-Rate compliance, software systems management, budgeting, purchasing, and long-range technology planningMaintain relationships with contracted network engineers, vendors, and Database Administrators to assess and address school technology needsLead technology integration efforts by motivating and supporting staff in the effective use of instructional technology through professional development, in-service training, and one-on-one coachingAssist in the planning and implementation of long-range technology initiatives designed to support and enhance teaching, learning, communication, and assessment practicesResearch, evaluate, preview, and recommend technology equipment, software, systems, and best practices aligned with school goals and operational needsBuild strong relationships and program support among students, staff, administration, and families through effective communication, collaboration, and customer serviceDrive effective integration and use of information systems, including Google Workspace, Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), school websites, and related platformsProvide daily supervision, direction, and support to technology staff and oversee help desk operations to ensure timely and effective support for students and staffEstablish and maintain procedures and workflows that improve operational efficiency, accountability, system reliability, and service qualityAdditional Duties as assignedQualifications:Commitment to GWSC mission and belief that all students can learnAbility to relate to a diverse population of students and parents a mustAdvanced proficiency in computer skills specifically, Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and ability to learn new programs/software quicklyKnowledge of educational technologies that promote and enhance student learningProven experience multi-tasking, organizing and prioritizing workAbility to handle requests and inquires and respond within a timely mannerHigh attention to detailDemonstrated professionalism and responsibility, and a strong work ethicA positive, high-energy attitude, and a drive for personal excellenceFlexible attitude, ability to work with urgencyStrong problem solving and strategic thinking skillsWillingness and desire to participate in unexpected projectsAbility to work as member of teamEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree (Masters preferred) in Information TechnologyExperience as a teacher and/or technology coordinator in K-12 environmentExperience working in a school a plusPhysical Requirements:Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required such as:Functioning in office space - reaching file cabinets, filing, faxing, scanning, coping, typing, mailing, making phone callsMust be able to sit for up to two hours looking at a computer monitor, using a keyboard/mouse and typingMust be able to lift up to 25lbs on a frequent basisApplication InstructionsEmail resume and cover letter to recruitment@greenwoodscharter.org.
