Tree and Shrub Plant Sales

Responsibilities and Duties: Proactively assist guests with tree and shrub plant selections that fit their needs. Assist guests with tree and shrub plant care questions including diagnosis of diseases or insects as well as recommendation of remedies. Water and monitor the health of a wide variety of trees, shrubs, and native plants. Receive plant shipments, stock, merchandise, and price plant material. Maintain organization, cleanliness, and appearance of nursery stock department. Flexibility to fill in wherever needed on the farm, including on our Christmas Tree crew from mid-November 'till Christmas. Qualifications and Skills: Create positive guest experiences through sharing knowledge of plants and sustainable gardening practices. Knowledge of trees and shrubs including Latin and common names, care and attributes, and confidence to share this information with guests. Ability to constantly and safely lift and move product quickly and efficiently. Excellent communication skills and follow-through, both verbal and written. Experience in a customer service, retail or sales environment. Efficient time management skills to ensure all daily tasks are complete. You Are: Friendly, energetic, and outgoing; very comfortable in a customer service role. Knowledgeable about trees and shrubs that thrive in our climate, as well as native plants. Calm and collected in fast paced, high stress environments. A team player. Always learning, asking questions, and soliciting feedback. Punctual and professional with a high attention to detail and cleanliness. Excited to work outdoors in all PNW weather conditions. Availability: This position requires open shift availability between 8:30am-6:15pm. Must be able to work weekends. Must have open availability April through June.
