The ideal candidate iscreative, culturally responsive, and passionate about early childhood development, with experience in early literacy, multi-disciplinary approaches, and strategies for diverse learners.This position emphasizeschild-centered learning, literacy and numeracy development, social-emotional growth, and collaboration with colleagues and families.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and implement a developmentally appropriate Pre-K program aligned withUPK School District requirementsDesign and teach culturally responsive lessonsAssess, track, and provide timely feedback on student progress and developmentUse positive, age-appropriate guidance strategiesBuild strong relationships with staff and families through professional communication and engagementCollaborate with teacher assistants and other team membersDesign classroom environments followingECERS (Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale)Develop literacy and math-focused activities using theCreative CurriculumParticipate in professional development and program evaluationRequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCurrent NYS teaching certificatevalid for service in the early childhood gradesBachelor’s degree(Master’s preferred)Experience teaching preschool-age childrenEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCETo be qualified as a Pre-K teacher, candidates must meetONEof the following qualification options:(a) New York State Certification Birth–Grade 2(b) New York State Certification N–6(c) New York State Certification P, K, 1–6(d) Bachelor’s Degree & approved 5-Year PlanAdditional QualificationsYou have medical clearance to perform all job duties and are free from communicable diseases, including tuberculosis (TB).You bring a warm, friendly, and positive attitude, with strong interpersonal skills when working with children, parents, and team members.
