The restaurant focuses on seasonal menus, thoughtful technique, and a high standard of execution. Ephemera operates as both a dinner restaurant and a creative culinary platform with tasting menus, special events, collaborations, and curated dining experiences.We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef to work alongside the Executive Chef and culinary team in executing daily service, preparing high-level menu items, and maintaining the standards and organization of the kitchen.Position SummaryThe Sous Chef is a senior hourly culinary position responsible for food preparation, station execution, organization, cleanliness, and maintaining Ephemeras standards of quality and consistency. This is a hands-on role working directly in service and prep production while helping maintain the flow and organization of the kitchen.This position focuses on execution, technique, organization, and consistency.Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Service ExecutionPrepare and execute menu items to Ephemera standardsMaintain consistency in recipes, portioning, and platingAssist with daily prep production and station setupWork service on the line and assist with expediting dishes during serviceEnsure proper food handling, storage, labeling, and rotation (FIFO)Maintain a clean, organized, and service-ready workstation at all timesKitchen Organization & StandardsAssist in maintaining prep lists, recipes, and station organizationHelp maintain kitchen cleanliness, equipment care, and sanitation standardsSupport inventory organization and product rotationAssist with menu development prep, tastings, and special eventsHelp reduce waste and maintain efficient product usageTeam CollaborationWork collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth serviceAssist in maintaining a professional, respectful, and focused kitchen environmentCommunicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house staff during serviceHelp maintain a culture of pride, professionalism, and hospitalityQualifications3+ years of experience in a high-quality kitchenFine dining or scratch kitchen experience preferredStrong knife skills and understanding of cooking techniquesStrong organization and cleanliness habitsAbility xmcpwfu to work cleanly, efficiently, and consistently under pressurePassion for food, ingredients, and hospitalityProfessional attitude and team-oriented mindsetCompensation & BenefitsHourly Position (eligible for tip pool participation)Competitive hourly wage based on experienceDining discounts within Atlas Restaurant GroupOpportunities to participate in menu development, tastings, and culinary eventsOpportunities for growth within Atlas Restaurant GroupIdeal CandidateThe ideal candidate:Takes pride in their craft and their workstationWorks clean, organized, and with attention to detailEnjoys working in a collaborative team environmentIs passionate about food, technique, and learningCan execute at a high level during busy service while maintaining quality
