Job Description
Position Summary:Mu-Del Electronics is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day production and operations functions of a specific component line of the company. The Operations Manager will oversee Sales Order entry, manufacturing, assembly, production planning, materials management, and coordination with quality and engineering teams. This leader will be responsible for meeting production goals, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring timely delivery of high-reliability RF electronic components and systems.The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, process discipline, and experience in managing operations in a low-to-medium volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:Plan, coordinate, and direct daily manufacturing operations to meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery requirementsMonitor shop floor activities and resolve production issues in real-time to avoid delays or quality concernsEnsure workforce adherence to safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and work instructionsWork with Supply Chain and Program Management to ensure availability of materials and components for current and future buildsCollaborate with leadership to manage staffing, equipment, and facility resources effectivelyDrive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste, and enhance quality using Lean Manufacturing principlesTrain, mentor, and develop production staff to meet performance goals and support growthQualifications:3+ years of experience in operations or production management in a manufacturing environment; experience in RF/microwave electronics, defense, aerospace, or similar high-reliability industries is strongly preferredProven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams in a low-to-mid volume, high-mix manufacturing settingStrong understanding of production processes, inventory control, MRP/ERP systems, and quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100)Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and follow-throughAbility to thrive in a dynamic, hands-on, small-company environmentBachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field requiredAdvanced degree or certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, PMP) are a plus
