WebMethods Integration DeveloperREMOTE ROLEDuration: Long-Term ContractSeeking an experienced WebMethods Integration Developer to support its 2026 IT portfolio and strategic technology initiatives. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, securing, and supporting enterprise integrations and APIs that connect critical business systems including GIS, ERP, Asset Management, Project Controls, and Document Management platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesAPI DevelopmentDesign, develop, and support RESTful and SOAP APIs using the webMethods platform.Develop secure APIs utilizing JSON, XML, and industry-standard integration patterns.Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, and SAML.Create and maintain API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI standards.Manage API versioning, lifecycle management, backward compatibility, and deprecation strategies.Enterprise IntegrationsDevelop integrations between enterprise applications including ERP, GIS, Asset Management, Project Controls, and Document Management systems.Build connectors and middleware services connecting legacy applications, cloud platforms, and third-party solutions.Design event-driven integrations supporting asynchronous messaging and webhook capabilities.Implement comprehensive logging, monitoring, exception handling, and transaction management.Security & ComplianceEnsure all solutions comply with cybersecurity standards and best practices.Implement secure integration patterns, API gateway policies, encryption, identity management, and audit controls.Support vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.Scalability & PerformanceDesign highly available, resilient, and scalable integration solutions.Establish and monitor performance benchmarks, throughput requirements, and latency objectives.Optimize integration performance for mission-critical business processes.Testing & Quality AssuranceDevelop and execute unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.Support automated testing and regression testing activities.Provide complete technical documentation and knowledge transfer to SMUD teams.Required QualificationsMinimum 5 years of hands-on experience with the Software AG webMethods platform.Minimum 2 years of experience with webMethods.IO (webMethods Cloud Integration).Proven experience developing SAP RFC (Remote Function Call) integrations.Strong Java development experience, including custom Java services and transformations.Advanced experience with:Integration ServerUniversal MessagingAPI GatewaywebMethods Test SuiteEDI/TN (Trading Networks)Java Service DevelopmentwebMethods.IOPreferred QualificationsExperience with Trading Networks (EDI/TN) and B2B integrations.Experience building enterprise middleware and interoperability solutions.Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, OAuth, JWT, and SAML.Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and error-handling frameworks.Understanding of secure software development and cybersecurity best practices.Experience supporting utilities, public sector, or energy industry organizations.Relevant certifications such as:Software AG Certified webMethods DeveloperMuleSoft CertificationAWS Certified DeveloperMicrosoft Azure Integration CertificationsPMP CertificationTechnical SkillsSoftware AG webMethodswebMethods.IOIntegration ServerUniversal MessagingAPI GatewayEDI/TN (Trading Networks)SAP RFCJavaREST APIsSOAP ServicesJSONXMLOAuth 2.0JWTSAMLSwagger/OpenAPIMiddleware IntegrationEnterprise Application Integration (EAI)Secure API Development
