Part-Time Technology and A/V Support Technician
The Technology and A/V Support Technician at Proctor Academy serves as a key member of the school's technology team, providing essential support for IT infrastructure, classroom audiovisual systems, and end-user help desk needs. This dynamic role ensures reliable, high-quality operation of technology resources in a vibrant, fast-paced boarding school environment. The position combines hands-on management and troubleshooting of IT and AV systems with a strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service, empowering faculty, staff, and students, and enriching the overall teaching and learning experience.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support and assist in the installation, management, and maintenance of:
School-wide data systems, Security camera systems, Network and AV infrastructure, Low-voltage electrical installations, AV finish work, Mount TVs, Install AV/network racks, and smart conference systems & speakers, Phone & Voice systems (Webex & Google)
Respond to IT support tickets, assisting with various IT needs such as:
Upgrading devices for Faculty/Staff, Classroom assistance with AV, Troubleshooting Software & Devices, Assisting in Repairing Devices
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support and AV technology
Strong proficiency in macOS, Windows, and general networking principles.
Skilled in AV system installation and troubleshooting.
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, Media Production, or a related field (preferred).
Apple Hardware Certification, CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, Extron, or other relevant certifications are a plus. (encouraged for continued professional development).
Network or audiovisual certifications (encouraged for continued professional development).
