Safety Director
Position SummaryAt RBD, safety isn’t just a policy—it’s how we take care of our people.We are proud to have reached 1 million hours without a recordable incident, and we are looking for a Safety Director who will protect and build on that standard.This role plays a critical leadership position in continuing a culture where every employee feels valued, protected, and confident going to work each day. This is not a reactive role—it is proactive, visible, and rooted in relationships.You will partner closely with leadership, field teams, and our fabrication shop to ensure safety is embedded into everything we do—from the first day of a project through completion.What You’ll Do· Lead and support company-wide safety efforts across all job sites and operations· Develop project-specific safety plans for each new construction project· Partner with project teams early to identify risks and establish safe work practices before work begins· Work closely with the Fabrication Shop Manager to build and maintain the same strong safety culture in the shop as we have in the field· Build relationships with field and shop teams to promote a culture of safety and accountability· Ensure compliance with OSHA and all safety regulations· Conduct job site and shop visits, audits, and safety observations· Investigate incidents and near-misses with a focus on learning and continuous improvement· Develop and deliver safety training that is clear, practical, and meaningful· Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership to reinforce safe work practices· Track and communicate safety performance in a way that drives improvement· Stay current on industry standards and continuously look for better ways to protect our peopleWhat We’re Looking For· Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Construction Management, or related field· OSHA 510 Certification· Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience· Bilingual (English/Spanish) required· Strong knowledge of OSHA and construction safety practices· Experience developing site-specific safety plans preferred· Experience supporting both field and shop environments is a plus· A leader who can maintain high standards while building trust and respect across all teamsHow You Lead· You show up consistently and lead by example· You are present—in the field and in the shop—not just behind a desk· You communicate clearly and respectfully with everyone· You hold people accountable while treating them with dignity· You focus on solutions, not just problems· You understand that culture—not just policy—drives safetyPhysical Requirements· Ability to walk job sites for extended periods· Must be able to climb ladders and navigate construction environments· Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed· Must be able to lift up to 25–50 pounds occasionally· Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat and coldWork Environment· Combination of office, field, and fabrication shop environments· Frequent travel to job sites required· Exposure to active construction sites, fabrication operations, noise, dust, and heavy equipmentCompensationSalary Range: $90,000 – $110,000 annuallyEligibility for performance-based bonusesFull benefits packageWhy This Role MattersAt RBD, we don’t measure safety by paperwork—we measure it by people going home to their families every day.Reaching 1 million hours without a recordable didn’t happen by accident.
