Dredge Operator

Dredge OperatorArcosa Aggregates is seeking a Dredge Operator based out of our Amite, LA plant. This role is responsible for operating dredge and mobile equipment to support safe, efficient aggregate production and plant operations.Day to DayActively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognitionHelp in the production of natural aggregatesOperate at least 2 pieces of mobile equipment (haul truck, farm tractor, water truck, rubber tire backhoe, front loader, etc.), hydraulic pumps, power winchesOperate equipment in quarry or productionMust have excavator and/or dozer experienceMay be involved in safety committees or initiativesAbility to work alone on dredge for long periods of timeComply with industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulationsPerform daily pre-shift equipment and workplace inspections to maintain equipment performanceMaintain strong communications with other plant employees and operatorsPerform other duties or responsibilities as assignedAbout YouAbility to operate at least 2 pieces of mobile equipmentMinimum of 1 year of experiencePrompt, regular, and predictable attendancePositive, team-based attitudeAbility to work extended hours, weekends and nights when necessaryThe ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet as required.The ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)The ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and the ability to determine when and what kind of maintenance is neededThe ability to lower anchor poles to verify depths of excavations. Directs or assist workers placing shore anchors and cables, laying additional pipes from dredges to shore, and pumping from pontoonsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentWorking Conditions Some jobs could work under harsh conditions including dirty environment, air contamination, intense noise, and restricted movement.
