EVENING YOUTH ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST

The Youth Engagement Specialist will maintain a commitment to the mission and vision of Pivot. Under the direct supervision of Pivot leadership, the Youth Engagement Specialist will adhere to Pivot operational policies and procedure. The Youth Engagement Specialist will promote a supervised and safe environment to youth that is trauma focused and provides the youth and the community with emotional support. The Youth Engagement Specialist will engage the youth on Housing and Basic needs, Overall, Health, Permanent Connections, and Education and Employment. POSITIONHours And SalaryShift: 3Pm-11PM or 4-12PM 5 days a week and will require at least one weekend shift.QualificationsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Applicant must be 21 years of age, pass an OSBI and DHS criminal background investigation and not be listed in any Registry of Sexual offenders.Demonstrate a commitment to the vision, mission and spirit of PivotDemonstrate compliance to confidentiality/ privacy standards required by agency and lawBe compassionate, respectful and Trauma Informed Care to all Pivot clients, consumers and Pivot staffDemonstrates team skills and respect the diversity and differences of othersDemonstrate professional conduct and appearanceBasic understanding of adolescent development and behaviors; demonstrate enjoyment of and ability to relate to at-risk youth and exhibit empathy with the joys and pains of othersSelf-motivation, initiative, sound judgment, and commitment to ongoing learning are essentialMust be dependable and able to report to work in a timely manner and work a flexible schedule outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidaysIs approachable, builds rapport well and practices attentive and active listeningSupports equal and fair treatment and opportunity for allUnderstand and comply with all Agency policies and procedures; including Child Protection PoliciesAbility to address conflict well and manage difficult youth in a supportive and non-threatening manner; able to respond quickly and safely and serve as a settling influence in crisis situations and emergenciesMinimum high school diploma or a GED certificate, Bachelors degree or further education in Social Work, Human Services, or Psychology preferredAbility to read, understand, analyze and interpret general periodicals, professional journals and government regulationsAbility to write reports business correspondence and maintain accurate statistical dataAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, consumers, employees, management and general publicAbility to perform basic high school mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions and decimals, percentage, rates and averages)Ability to interpret graphs and statistical dataBasic data entry and typing, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointPosition RequirementsCrisis Intervention TrainingPosses and Produce valid Oklahoma Drivers License and current vehicle insurance verificationBe current and or willing to become certified in CPR, First Aid and Agency Health and Safety procedures
