This role requires strong perioperative experience and the ability to manage patients throughout the surgical process, from preparation through recovery.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare patients for surgical procedures in the pre-op settingMonitor and care for patients in PACU post-surgeryAssess patient conditions and respond to changes appropriatelyAdminister medications and treatments as prescribedCollaborate with surgical teams and anesthesia providersEducate patients and families on procedures and recoveryMaintain accurate documentation using electronic medical recordsRequirementsMinimum 5 years of RN experienceStrong experience in Pre-Op and PACU settingsActive RN license (or ability to obtain upon acceptance)Experience with Cerner EMR preferredAbility to work independently in a smaller, rural facilityCertificationsBLS (Basic Life Support)ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)Additional InformationHoliday coverage requiredOn-call responsibilities includedPersonal transportation is strongly recommended due to limited public transitParticipation in quarterly department education sessions is requiredLocation HighlightsLocated in northern Vermont near the Canadian border, this area offers a peaceful lifestyle with access to outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling.
