Schedule:12-month period with potential for additional 12-month option periods
JOB OVERVIEW:
I-2-I Solutions is seeking a highly qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME) with
extensive experience in Central Asia, specifically Uzbekistan, and proficiency in the Russian language. The SME will be responsible for participating in and conducting an evaluation of the USGS-Uzbekistan program during a scientific/technical workshop in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This role involves gathering information, consulting with Uzbek colleagues, and preparing a program evaluation report. The SME will work closely with the USGS and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the project.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in a scientific/technical workshop in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, as part of the USGS-Uzbekistan program.
Conduct program evaluation activities, including interviews and questionnaires, to collect necessary information.
Collaborate with Uzbek colleagues and project stakeholders to assess program activities and outcomes.
Prepare a comprehensive written evaluation report upon return to the United States.
Attend, remotely as needed, planning meetings and coordination efforts with the USGS and provide regular status reports/updates on project progress.
Work in close cooperation with the USGS and other partners to ensure effective communication and successful program evaluation.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Prior experience working within the U.S. and Central Asia, with a focus on Uzbekistan.
Proficiency in the Russian language.
Familiarity with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and previous experience working with USGS in Central Asia is desired.
Strong background in earth sciences and associated terminology.
Experience working in foreign countries and a variety of cultures, particularly in the Central Asia region.
Knowledge of project feasibility, project finance, and project coordination/facilitation.
Ability to participate in the final closing program workshop in Uzbekistan near the end of the USGS-Uzbekistan program.
Education:
University certificate or graduate degree in a relevant field.
