Operations Manager, Distribution Center - 2nd Shift

We're seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our distribution center operations and drive excellence in our supply chain.Position OverviewWe are looking for a dynamic Operations Manager to oversee daily operations of our distribution center, ensuring efficient processes, optimal productivity, and exceptional service delivery. This role requires a strategic leader who can balance operational excellence with team development.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations LeadershipDirect all distribution center activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shippingDevelop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costsMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with safety regulations and company policiesTeam ManagementLead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors and warehouse associatesConduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coachingFoster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvementManage staffing levels and scheduling to meet operational demandsProcess OptimizationAnalyze workflows and implement process improvementsOptimize inventory management and space utilizationImplement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principlesDrive automation and technology adoption initiativesQuality & SafetyMaintain high standards for product quality and order accuracyEnsure OSHA compliance and promote a safety-first cultureConduct regular safety audits and training sessionsInvestigate incidents and implement corrective actionsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field5+ years of progressive experience in distribution center or warehouse operations3+ years in a management or supervisory roleStrong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics softwareProven track record of process improvement and cost reductionExcellent leadership and team-building skillsPreferred QualificationsLean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)Experience with automated warehouse systemsFamiliarity with furniture or large-item distributionExperience managing high-volume distribution operationsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesWho We AreAt Ashley, were more than a business; were family.
