Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

We continue to expand to offer services to the Niceville and Fort Walton Beach communities. At this time, we have 5 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and 5 therapists. We are looking to add an organized, proficient, caring additional Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.The position requires the provider to be empathetic and demonstrate the ability to properly diagnose and treat a variety of mental health disorders. In addition to brief therapy, the provider will prescribe psychotropic medications within their scope of practice.This is a professional position in which the incumbent provides patient care within the community at a private clinic. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide patient assessment and diagnosis, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, order laboratory tests, interpret test results, provide patient education, and make appropriate referrals in accordance with statutes, regulations and protocols regulating the profession. The incumbent will have a license to practice in the state of Florida. The nurse practitioner MUST be board certified as a psychiatric/mental-health nurse practitioner. The PMHNP will prescribe within scope of practice and follow clinical guidelines regarding treatment protocols and medication management.QualificationsStrong expertise in Mental Health Nursing and Psychiatric CareActive licensure and experience as a Nurse PractitionerProficiency in Mental Health Care practices and compassionate approach to client needsStrong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skillsMaster’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institutionNational certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
