Associate Attorney

We are seeking an associate attorney with 2–3+ years of litigation experience who can take ownership of cases and contribute meaningfully with minimal ramp-up time. Personal injury experience is preferred.While personal injury experience is strongly preferred, we are open to candidates with solid previous litigation experience in other practice areas who are familiar with the litigation process and can quickly learn and adapt.This is not an entry-level role. We are seeking an attorney who can step in, take ownership of cases, and operate independently in a hands-on environment.You will work on both plaintiff and defense matters, offering a well-rounded litigation experience, and will work directly with the managing attorney in a small firm setting.CompensationThis position offers a base salary of $90,000–$120,000, commensurate with experience, plus performance-based incentives tied to settled cases, case outcomes, and overall contribution. With base salary and incentives combined, total annual compensation has the potential to exceed $150,000 for a strong, self-motivated attorney who can work independently and help move cases forward effectively.Additional benefits include:• Paid time off: 2 weeks after one year• Standard national holidaysThere is also substantial opportunity for professional growth, hands-on litigation experience, and long-term advancement within the firm.Responsibilities:Handle all aspects of personal injury litigationDraft, review, and analyze legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and memoranda of lawConduct legal research, case analysis, and develop a case strategy and theoryReview and analyze discovery, including identifying key facts and issuesManage case files and maintain the organization of litigation materialsAppear in court for conferences, hearings, and motion argumentsParticipate in settlement conferences and status hearingsCommunicate effectively with clients, attorneys, medical providers, and third partiesConduct and defend depositions (based on experience)Qualifications:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (required)Admission to practice law in New York State (required)Federal court admission (SDNY or EDNY) is a plus2–3+ years of litigation experience required with strong analytical and writing skills; personal injury experience is preferredPrior experience handling motion practice and discoveryStrong legal writing and analytical skillsAbility to independently review and analyze case files and documentsHighly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple casesStrong communication skills, both written and verbalProficiency in Microsoft Word and legal document preparationTech-savvy with familiarity in legal research tools and case management systemsConsistent and stable work history preferredAbout Company:We are a boutique personal injury law firm based in Queens, New York, seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to work directly with the managing attorney.Why Join UsWork directly with an experienced personal injury attorneyGain hands-on experience across all aspects of litigationTake on meaningful responsibility in a small firm environmentOpportunity to grow based on performance
