Senior Systems Administrator

Reports to: IT DirectorLocation: Brattleboro VT or (Commutable distance form Brattleboro for occasional onsite work.)The Senior Systems Administrator is a hands-on role responsible for researching, evaluating, implementing, and supporting World Learning's global IT infrastructure. As the foremost technical expert, the Senior Systems Administrator ensures that efficient technical and operational standards are established and adhered to, that systems are configured and maintained to support 24/7 operations and that infrastructure technology solutions are secure and sustainable.The Senior Systems Administrator ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems.On-call availability is expected to support emergencies and travel to support infrastructure and projects is anticipated at no more than 5%.ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain all physical and virtual servers including upgrades, patching and update schedulingManage and maintain all data backup and recovery systemsManage and maintain Windows/Azure Active Directory and Microsoft365Manage and maintain all other critical infrastructure including SANs, VMware vSphere, DNS, UPSes, DHCP and IP addressing, Network Policy Server, Public Key Infrastructure (SSL & CAs), DLP, Conditional Access, Endpoint protectionManage and maintain web infrastructure: Servers, web apps and softwareImplements and maintains Mobile Device Management solutions to include installs, upgrades, configurationsDevelop, document, and maintain standards to be applied to WL's global infrastructureAct as technical lead for follow up and resolution of major incidents including security incidentsMentor Service and Support team staff Report key metrics for services, systems and servers, network and telecom infrastructure performanceProactively identify and mitigate risks - also contribute to IT risk registerContribute to short- and long-range planning and serve as lead on infrastructure projectsInterface with vendors as required in the ongoing delivery of projects and systemsAdheres to cyber and information security best practicesRoutinely assesses security measures and mitigates security concernsContribute to project deliverables and support project managers as neededResponsible for overall network health and securitySecurity responsibilities: manage anti-virus and EDR; access compliance; policy adherence; CVEs and BitSight ratings; patching cadence; incidence response coordination; conducting penetration testing; Disaster RecoveryRequired Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years' experience in a similar roleMicrosoft and Linux Server operating system administrationActive Directory and Azure AD managementVirtualization, VMWare vSphereNetworking concepts, OSI, TCP/IP, NAT, VPN, VLAN, DNS M365 administrationStorage managementVeeam Backup and recoveryPublic Key Infrastructure managementSingle Sign-On managementHigh availability, redundancy, and disaster recoveryFamiliarity with Change Management practicesFamiliarity with Cisco switching and firewallsHighly organized with excellent analytical skills and strong attention to verbal and written detailDesired Skills & QualificationsMicrosoft or Cisco qualifiedITIL FoundationPMPFamiliarity with FERPA, PCI DSS, NISTHPE/Cisco server hardware administrationAPC Symmetra UPS systemsMonitoring tools, SolarWinds, ZenossBitSight cyber security analytics administrationFresh Service ITSM managementExperience with Microsoft Enterprise licensingExperience with firewall and switching configurationFamiliarity with Backupify for M365Cloudflare DNS and domain name managementSQL administrationOverseeing staffJob Posted by ApplicantPro
