This role is a vital part of our Hose and Fittings Group, operating on the front line of industrial service and custom fabrication.Check out what our associates love about their job hereAs an Assembler, you will be expected to fabricate assemblies and perform all warehouse functions to accurately pick and ship products. Understand and utilize Cross operating systems to consistently provide effective and efficient customer service.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSFabricate hose assemblies from pick ticketsUnderstand and communicate customer directions related to product requests; communicate directly with the customer when changes are requested, backorders occur, or future order dates are changedPick orders correctly by matching the item and quantity picked to the pick ticketPackage orders for shipping using the appropriate packing material to protectagainst damage during delivery; follow instructions & requirements as noted on the pick ticketDeliver product to production customers, and other customer orders as neededAssist counter sales associates with pulling orders, and building assemblies for counter customers when neededADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESFabricate hose assemblies per hose certification requirementsRestock parts bins from overstock storagePerform special projects as assigned by SupervisorMaintain a safe, clean and organized warehouseRemove pallets, break down plastic reels and package for recyclingEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or GED required1 to 2 years experience in a warehouse/stockroom environment preferredREQUIRED BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIESTeamwork orientedCustomer focusedSelf-MotivatedGood judgementHandles stressful situations wellAbility to work with limited supervisionCommunicates wellREQUIRED FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIESMechanical aptitudeGood problem solving abilitiesBasic math and reading skillsBasic PC skillsBasics of warehouse operations and terminologyMust be able to read a tape measure and calipersAbility to consistently and reliably arrive on time and ready to workPHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to handle 50 pound packagesAbility to stand and work in place for 2-3 hoursCapable of working in a physically demanding environmentAble to maintain focus and productivity in a fast-paced settingDISCLAIMERThe job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
