Teacher 1 (Career-Tech - Graphic Arts) $5,000 Sign On Bonus!

* Works under direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education in order to instruct youth in graphic/media arts; provides individualized remedial instruction and training to students at Circleville Juvenile Correctional Facility (CJCF) in graphic/media arts; assesses educational needs of youth (e.g., individual educational plans (IEPs), multifactor evaluations (MFEs), program objectives relating to the course of study, etc.) to identify student's immediate and long-range needs; utilizes student analysis results and approved courses of study to develop lesson plans for assignments and activities; provides instruction in graphic/media arts and individual assistance; administers, scores, and interprets examination and proficiency indicators; maintains discipline and security; counsels each student regarding their academic performance, behavior and/or personal problems; documents student progress by recording grades in electronic grade book; forwards student performance reports to appropriate staff (i.e., treatment teams, principal, social worker and/or special education teachers) for use in planning institutional, transitional and community services for youth; participates in institutional treatment activities; effectively manages classroom by fostering a culture of mutual respect, understanding and joy; encourages student engagement; models excellent interpersonal skills and collaborates with school community.* Prepares and maintains required records (e.g., electronic grade books, daily attendance, inventory); submits reports as required by Department of Youth Services and CJCF policy and procedure; attends variety of meetings, workshops, in-service training, and formal education programs.* Performs other teacher duties as assigned; responsible for the care and maintenance of all classroom equipment and learning aides; prepares work orders when required; annually prepares budgetary proposals, requisitions for new educational resources, and maintains necessary inventories of classroom supplies.DYS Teachers can earn from $60,798 - $103,334 depending on education and experience (includes additional 20% supplement)Small class sizes (6-8 students)Students are an average of 16-18 years oldComprehensive paid training will be provided to the selected candidateIntersession leave - 40 days off per year; 186 student daysAdditional personal and sick leaveNo study hall/lunch supervisory responsibilitiesMust meet eligibility requirements for Teacher Certificate/License appropriate for career-tech - graphic arts & grade level as assigned*; Teacher 1, 71471, must also have baccalaureate degree or less per OEA agreement; NOTE: Applicant must successfully obtain Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment.Job Skills: Education
