This position is in the office and provides a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn from some of the best in this dynamic field!The Junior Consultant will be a valuable contributor to the Digital Forensics team. This position will be expected to be in the office and assist the team in managing the intake, evidence and lab tasks for the Washington, DC office. Under supervision, this position works closely with project owners and consulting departments to ensure accurate documentation and process flow for all incoming and outgoing data.This person must be in the Washington, DC area and will be expected to be in the office during your schedule.Salary starts at $90,000 plus competitive benefits that include high-quality PPO plan in medical, dental, vision; Flex spending account; 401k contributions; training budget; and more!Key ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of senior consultants, collect and image electronic data from a variety of electronic media, including desktops, laptops, cell phones, tablets, etc.Manage the organization's data including staging, hygiene, disposition, and drive inventoryCreate and maintain appropriate documentation to include events such as chain of custodyUse data mining tools to search, sort, and organize large amounts of electronic informationMaintain inventory and management of the evidence room; oversee the release, destruction, and subsequent paperworkMonthly reconciliation of data retrieved from the lab, evidence room, and general inventoryContribute to the development and maintenance of applications used for data management and storageCreate and provide reports relating to evidence handling as requestedAdditional Responsibilities:Attend bi-monthly, quarterly and annual company meetingsSubmit time entry in accordance with deadlinesMay be asked to perform other duties not listed in this job description as required by business needs.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree preferred with coursework in Data Analytics, Digital Forensics, Computer Science, or experience commensurate with junior levelOne year of experience using industry standard forensics tools such as Nuix, Magnet Axiom, EnCase, or FTK preferredUnderstanding of forensic software, evidence preservation, collection, and documentation a plusAbility to report to the office on time and consistentlyAbility to work more than 40 hours a week as business needs dictateWillingness to travel and meet position needs outside of regular business hoursCandidates Likely to SucceedCurious and eager to learnPossess impeccable problem solving, reasoning and analytical skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, effectively managing many detailsAbility to interact with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistencePositive attitude with a desire and willingness to solve problemsThe ability to seek out answers in the absence of formal directionFlexibility regarding work schedule to meet position needs outside of regular business hoursIndividuals must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without an accommodation
