A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: The Med/Surg unit provides direct patient care to critically ill adult patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. This position coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as a patient advocate and works as part of a team with ancillary and non-nursing departments. Assess the patient's condition and nursing care needs Set goals and prescribe appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of patients Develop individual nursing care plans Implement care plans and make revisions as needed Evaluate patient care outcomes Collaborate with physicians and other hospital employees Administer medications, treatments and therapies. Communicate with patients and oversee provision of care. Provide patients and/or family with instruction and education relevant to condition. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire. License: Registered Nurse licensed to work in the state of Kentucky.
