Experience coaching track preferred.Season: April 14, 2026 - June 5th, 2026Pay based on Step 0: $2,900JOB TITLE: Track CoachREPORTS TO: Reports to Athletic DirectorJOB SUMMARY: The responsibilities of this position include training, coaching, and demonstrating to students the proper techniques and rules of a particular sport; set an example of good sportsmanship, team spirit, and healthy physical life style; attend practices and events.TYPICAL DUTIES:Provide coaching/supervision or assist in coaching/supervising students at sport practices sessions, training programs, and events; verbally and physically assist students to ensure proper techniques and understanding of the sport.Comply and meet district procedures and policies and WIAA Co-curricular Standards Requirements and Regulations.Monitor player eligibility.Demonstrate proper use of equipment and ensure safety rules and regulations are applied; ensure proper storage of equipment; ensure inventory is maintained.Organize and/or help organize and supervise all fund-raising activities.Promote positive attitude and academic achievement.Observe all district safety policies and procedures and equipment maintenance and operation guidelines for district employee, student, and public safety; wear protective gear as necessary.Monitor student behavior; model appropriate behavior; correct behaviors and maintain discipline according to established policies and procedures.Provide encouragement and reinforcement of positive student behavior.Communicate with athletic director concerning individual student and/or program needs.Other related duties as relate to the job assignment.MENTAL DEMANDS: Requires average reading, writing, and mathematical skills for instruction; must have good visual ability, including peripheral vision; must have excellent hearing; must have good depth perception; must have good hand/eye coordination; work at times is fast paced, routine, repetitive; requires the ability to perform duties under stress when dealing with student injuries, during practice and athletic events; requires the ability to make independent on-the-spot and long-range decisions; may occasionally be required to calm distraught, angry or hostile individuals; requires adaptability and flexibility to different behaviors of students, parents, fans; requires cooperation and ability to work as a team member; must have interest in helping students with their mental, social, physical and educational needs; requires organizational and time management skills; requires self-discipline in behavior and attitude; requires accurate record-keeping; requires higher than average communication skills to demonstrate and instruct students in proper techniques involving physical skills.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires working outdoors in any kind of weather; exposure to changes in temperature and climatic conditions, wet/humid conditions, dust, toxic chemicals; exposure to body fluids and infectious diseases carried by students; may be required to attend to athletic injuries and/or to provide emergency first-aid/CPR; exposure to student, crowd and equipment noise levels; requires standing, walking, sitting without restrictions, ability to stoop, bend, squat frequently, lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds frequently, assistance for heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling available; requires no limitation in reaching, grasping, handling, and gripping; may require restraining out-of-control students; may require assisting students with physical activities; exposure to flying objects and debris; requires flexibility in scheduling and attendance of evening and possibly weekend activities; requires the ability to travel out of the area.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience - High school graduation or equivalent; experience working with secondary-level students.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Satisfactory background clearance results (fingerprinting required); proof of ability to work in the United States; current CPR & first aid cards; meet all WIAA coaching requirements.
