We are committed to improving patient outcomes through data, technology, and scientific excellence.We are currently hiring for multiple Clinical Systems Business Analyst roles across two levels (Level I and Level II), with multiple positions available at each level.Primary Purpose (Both Levels)The Clinical Systems Business Analyst serves as the critical bridge between clinical/research operations and technical delivery teams. The role translates business needs, clinical workflows, and stakeholder requirements into actionable functional specifications, process improvements, and system solutions.Both levels support:Requirements elicitation and documentationProcess analysis and optimizationClinical systems implementation and integrationData-driven decision-making and workflow improvementUser adoption, training, and change managementLevel II represents a more senior, independent, and advisory role with deeper domain expertise and leadership expectations.Key Differences by LevelClinical Systems Business Analyst (Jr)1–3 years of relevant experienceEarly-career or developing professionalWorks with moderate independence, often under guidance on complex initiativesFocus on building domain expertise and technical fluencyClinical Systems Business Analyst (Mid)3–6 years of progressive experienceMid-to-senior level practitioner with demonstrated independent deliveryLeads workstreams and complex initiatives with minimal oversightActs as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and clientsProvides deeper clinical informatics expertise and leadership in solution designResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities (Both Levels) Stakeholder Engagement & RequirementsLead and facilitate workshops with clinicians, researchers, technical teams, and leadershipElicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirementsTranslate business needs into clear user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteriaCommunicate findings and recommendations across all organizational levels Process Analysis & DocumentationDevelop workflow diagrams, process maps, FMEA, value stream maps, and root cause analysesIdentify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and operational risksMaintain structured documentation repositories and knowledge assets Solution Design & ImplementationCollaborate on clinical and technical solution design and deliverySupport system integration, data mapping, and interoperability initiativesContribute to automation, efficiency improvements, and responsible AI adoptionEnsure adherence to data governance, privacy, and compliance requirements Testing, Validation & SupportSupport UAT, system validation, and usability testingProvide clinical and workflow feedback during system development cyclesSupport post-implementation troubleshooting and adoptionContribute to change management and training activities Training & Knowledge TransferDevelop training materials and deliver end-user training sessionsServe as SME in clinical systems, workflows, and informatics domainsSupport adoption of new systems and workflows across user groupsQualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Clinical Research, Public Health, IT, or related field requiredMaster’s degree preferred (may substitute for experience)ExperienceJr: 1–3 years in clinical IT, informatics, or regulated research environmentMid: 3–6 years progressive experience with demonstrated independent contributionExperience may include:Clinical research or pharmaceutical environments (GxP, GCP)Federal health IT systems (NIH, HHS, VA, DoD, NCI, etc.)Clinical informatics or EHR/EDC/CTMS implementationsSystem integration, interoperability, or business process redesignTechnical Skills (Both Levels)Process & AnalysisBPMN, UML, workflow mapping, value stream mapping, FMEA, root cause analysisMicrosoft Visio and similar toolsClinical Systems & StandardsEHR, EDC, CTMS platformsHL7, FHIR, CDISC, SNOMED, LOINC, OMOPExposure to biomedical domains (e.g., oncology, imaging, pathology) is a plusTools & TechnologyJira, Confluence, Azure DevOpsSQL, Excel, Power BI, TableauConfiguration management and version control toolsTesting & ComplianceUAT supportGxP / 21 CFR Part 11 / CSV validation experienceRegulatory and audit readiness supportCore CompetenciesStrong analytical and structured thinkingExcellent communication across technical and clinical audiencesWorkshop facilitation and stakeholder alignment skillsAbility to work independently (increasing with level)Adaptability across clinical, regulatory, and technical domainsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailPreferred QualificationsCertifications such as:PMI-PBA, CBAPPMP, ITIL 4 FoundationLean Six Sigma (Green Belt for Level I, Black Belt for Level II)CPHIMS, AMIA 10x10, GCP/ICH E6 trainingExperience supporting federal agencies (NIH, NCI, VA, DoD, HHS)Familiarity with government contracting environments and compliance frameworksAdditional NoteWe are actively hiring for multiple positions at both Clinical Systems Business Analyst Jr. and Mid.
