Medical Records Coordinator
Location:Ashby Ponds by Erickson Senior Living Join us as a Medical Records Coordinator for our onsite Medical Center. In this role, you will manage the patient medical records of all residents in our Continuing Care neighborhoods.What we offerCompensation: starts at $23/hour, commensurate of experience.A culture of diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging, which builds on our mission, vision and valuesMedical, dental and vision packages, including an annual reimbursement for qualified wellness expenses, personal health coaching and telemedicine optionsPTO Plans, PLUS company paid volunteer hours for eligible team members, in accordance with applicable state law401k for all team members 18 and over with a company 3% matchOnsite medical centers, providing wellness visits and sick care for all team members over 18 years of ageEducation assistance, certification reimbursement and access to over 6,000 courses through our online learning library, designed to enhance your current skills and build new onesGrowth Opportunities – grow with the company as we open new communities and expand on our existing ones!How you will make an impactOrganize and review medical records for completion of documentation and/or deficiencies on resident's dischargeCode admission/discharge diagnoses as required by Medicare program and/or other regulatory agencies, using the ICD-10 coding classification system for proper and accurate reimbursementResponsible for performing monthly audits of discharge recordsParticipate in the facility's overall Nurse Management, QA/QI, Operations, and Resident Care Management teamsEvaluate clinical information from a variety of medical records and assigns appropriate ICD 10 CM codes and/or CPT codes to patient records to ensure records and billingAudit incomplete records and prepares reports on delinquencies, and ensures all medical records are released according to HIPAA guidelinesManage specific components of the QA/QI program in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines from other regulatory agencies that govern long-term care facilities. Assists in developing follow-up procedures for monitoring identified problem areas; ensure documentation and reporting through the mechanisms of the QA/QI CommitteeBackup to MDS Coordinator transmissions to StateWhat you will needKnowledge of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) medical record regulations and retrieval practicesProficient in interdisciplinary communication and coordinationStrong understanding of medical record regulations, standards, and terminologyAdvanced computer skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectivelyPlease note that specific state regulations and requirements may be applicable.
