An individual who ensures the safety of patrons in and around the waterfront by monitoring swimmers and enforcing safety rules and regulations. Lifeguards are skilled swimmers and display leadership characteristics, communication skills, and assertiveness as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Must be 17 years of age or 16 years of age with one year of experience. Must have current American Red Cross certifications: ARC Water Safety Instructor (WSI), ARC Lifeguard Training (LGT), Waterfront Lifeguard Certification, Professional Rescuer CPR. Additional Qualifications: Know emergency procedures of assigned sites. Certifications as above. Maintain good physical condition; attend all morning drills, good vision and auditory skills. Run, swim, and paddle. Deal with volatile situations with professionalism. Hours are 9am-5 pm, Memorial Day through Labor Day, including weekends. $21.00 - $21.50 hourly, no benefits.
