In this position you will be working in a 35-bed Acute Medical Care/Oncology Unit that primarily cares for acute adult with a variety of different medical diagnoses. Our oncology population provides our nurses the opportunity to become chemotherapy certified and provides the opportunity to care for a number of Hospice and Palliative Care patients.There are unlimited growth opportunities at HCA! Apply today for our Acute Medical Care RN opportunity.Job Summary and QualificationsAs an Acute Medical Care Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.What you will do in this role:Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.What qualifications you will need:Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) by Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state requiredAssociate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferredBLS required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment start dateACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start dateAt least 1 year of clinical nursing preferredTriStar Summit is a 234-bed comprehensive facility. We serve Davidson, Wilson and surrounding counties. We include a Level III Trauma Center. We offer a full array of acute care services. These include cardiology, oncology, orthopedics/spine, rehabilitation and women's services. We are an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI. We are a Primary Stroke Center.
