This position involves direct patient interaction, assisting with clinical procedures, and managing patient records to facilitate efficient and effective care delivery. The MA serves as a liaison between patients and medical staff, helping to create a welcoming and organized environment that promotes patient comfort and trust. By performing both clinical and administrative duties, the MA contributes to the overall quality of care and helps maintain compliance with healthcare regulations. Ultimately, the role is essential in enhancing patient outcomes and supporting the healthcare team in delivering comprehensive medical services.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.Certification as a Medical Assistant (e.g., CMA or RMA) is required.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in a healthcare or clinical setting.Additional certifications such as phlebotomy or EKG technician.Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, medical histories, and recording symptoms.Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures by handling instruments and supplies.Manage patient records, including updating charts, entering data into electronic health records (EHR), and ensuring confidentiality.Schedule patient appointments, coordinate referrals, and communicate with patients regarding follow-up care and instructions.Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment by adhering to infection control protocols and managing medical supplies.Skills:The required skills enable the Medical Assistant to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, and managing patient information accurately and efficiently. Proficiency with electronic health record systems ensures that patient data is recorded and retrieved securely, supporting seamless communication within the healthcare team. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting compassionately with patients and coordinating care with providers. Preferred skills like phlebotomy and EKG certification expand the MA's ability to support diagnostic procedures, enhancing the overall patient care experience.
