We are currently seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist for an inpatient psychiatry locum tenens opportunity in the state of Pennsylvania, near Adamsburg. This assignment offers a flexible schedule with a mix of inpatient clinical hours and on-call responsibilities. If you are available for a short-term commitment and have the experience to provide quality psychiatric care, this could be a great fit for you.Position Overview:Location: Near Adamsburg, PASpecialty: PsychiatryPractice Setting: InpatientCoverage Dates: January 3, 2025 January 25, 2025Schedule:Monday Friday: 8:00 AM 4:00 PMWeekends: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM + 4:00 PM 8:00 AM callCall required 1-2 days per week; possible weekend callAverage response time for call: 30 minutesPatient Load: 10-12 patients per shiftCall Responsibilities:Consultations in the ED and med/surg units on weekendsInpatient rounding for psychiatric units2-4 admissions on average when called inEMR System: EpicSupport Staff: Midlevel providers will assist with new evaluations and summariesRequirements:Board Certification/Eligibility: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in PsychiatryLicensing: Must be licensed in PennsylvaniaExperience:Must have completed a Psychiatry residency; fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry preferredFamiliarity with inpatient psychiatric care and involuntary commitmentsExperience in managing a range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, affective disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, and moreSkills: Experience with pharmacotherapy, group therapy, family therapy, and involuntary commitment is preferredCredentialing: 14-day credentialing timeframeFacility Details:Inpatient Unit: 29 bedsPatient Types: Adults with a variety of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and other severe mental health issuesNo Hospital Stroke Certification RequiredNo surgery center privileges neededAdditional Information:Call Coverage: The psychiatrist will be required to cover call shifts, including weekdays and weekends. During on-call shifts, the provider will respond to psychiatric emergencies, perform consultations, and provide care for patients admitted to the psychiatric unit.Lodging and Travel: Arrangements will be made for lodging.
