Part-Time Furnace Technician - 5am to 5pm

The Furnace Technician is responsible for performing the various tasks in maintaining the glass melting furnaces and equipment used in the manufacturing of custom specialty molder glass products. This role is responsible for supporting the glass making operation. - Handling of raw materials and mixes - Set-up and breakdown of shop equipment - Fill furnace pots utilizing forklift/shovel to transport batch materials - Empty pots/tanks, as needed with ladle equipment - Assist in changing of pots, as needed - Provide properly marked culllet barrels, as needed - Monitor temperature gauges, thermostats and other measurement devices as required - Monitor and inspect glass condition, pot/tank condition, as required - Communicate all pertinent information to Supervisor or next shift - Maintain a clean and orderly work area - All other duties assigned. Experience & Education Requirements - Experience working in an industrial environment - Experience with industrial equipment - High School diploma/Equivalent/Higher degree - Ability to read/understand technical instructions - Certified forklift operator a plus Physical Requirements - Ability to lift up to 70 lbs - Work in extreme temperatures (hot & cold) - Able to stand, walk, reach, squat, kneel & climb - Able to use pallet jack, climb ladder, work at heights.
