Local Area Caregiver
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Local Area Caregivers to provide high-quality in-home and community-based care for clients of all ages. The ideal candidate will support individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, those with developmental disabilities, or individuals requiring specialized memory or dementia care. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence within a supportive environment. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives through personalized care and attentive support.
Duties
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs as needed
Support clients with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs
Implement and follow individualized care plans tailored to each client’s requirements
Conduct patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior
Utilize proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and heavy lifting when necessary
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and sanitation
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality
Monitor patients’ health status and report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals
Assist with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, memory care, or hospice support
Support clients in community settings or residential facilities like group homes or assisted living communities
Skills
Valid certification in First Aid and CPR required; additional certifications in nursing or hospice care preferred
Experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments highly desirable
Strong patient observation skills with the ability to recognize changes in condition or behavior
Knowledge of medication administration and vital signs monitoring
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia preferred
Ability to assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting safely
Compassionate communication skills and patience when working with seniors or individuals with special needs
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client privacy and confidentiality
Ability to work independently within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism and empathy

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
