We are looking for someone who is passionate about academic excellence, fairness, and positive school culture to help lead our K–5 building. This position manages and supervises the daily operations of an elementary school building to ensure the educational process is meeting the needs of the students, staff, parents, school board and superintendent.EXPERIENCE: This position requires a minimum of five to seven years of related experience in a classroom setting and three years of progressively responsible supervisory experience.QualificationsMichigan Administrative Certificate (or ability to obtain)Master’s degree in Educational Leadership (or related field)Minimum 3 years of successful elementary teaching experience preferredAdministrative or leadership experience preferredKey Responsibilities IncludeIdentifies and coordinates the educational needs of regular and special education programs to ensure maximum educational benefits.Establishes short- and long-range strategic plans consistent with district policy.Provides educational leadership to establish a climate conducive to learning, planning and program development.Manages the design, development and delivery of curriculum.Evaluates instructional programs to ensure student achievement and successful execution.Maintains a positive working relationship with parents and act as a problem solver when concerns arise.Maintains relationships with parent teacher association (PTA) and other community organizations to ensure two-way communications which foster parent and community involvement.Identifies staff training needs to ensure effective school improvement programs and encourages professional growth of teachers.Prepares reports, correspondence and other written materials for review by senior staff and the community at large.Addresses behavioral issues until resolved in a satisfactory manner.Develops an atmosphere of trust, respect, interest and enthusiasm within the school.Complies with legal and regulatory requirements of various governmental agencies.Adheres to the district health and safety policies.Assists principal with instructional improvement and a culture of high expectations.Supports and evaluates staff growth and collaboration.Promotes student achievement and well-being.Assists with daily school operations and student safety.Builds strong partnerships with families and the community.Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor or other administrative staff.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
