PurposeThis position is responsible for performing functions in the analytical laboratory departments. This includes the preparation, analysis, and quantitation of oil test samples, performing quality control procedures and maintaining documentation and equipment.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesFollowing all company safety requirements.Timely and accurate preparation, analysis, and quantitation of test samples.Oversees sample flow and production totals in department.Installing, calibrating, repairing and maintain department equipment; documenting the maintenance and calibration of equipment.Provides technical and trouble-shooting support for testing and equipment maintenance.Preparing standard materials and calibrations for equipment utilized.Disposal of related hazardous materials.Overseeing the recycling and re-use of supplies as applicable.Adheres to ASTM, ISO, and/or EPA procedures and protocols and making necessary modifications for the analysisParticipation with lab Quality Control programs.Support laboratory personnel/team with projects, training, verifying results, etc as required.Follow values of WEIDMANN Star.Other duties may be assigned by Laboratory Management.May supervise laboratory technicians depending on location.Any other duties assigned by management.Job RequirementsAssociate’s degree in Chemistry or a related field and some experience in a laboratory environment.Previous customer service experience and experience with a range of analytic testing equipment and procedures is preferred.Ability to meet demanding deadlines while maintaining attention to detail while completing tasks.Must be willing to take on added responsibilities and challenges to grow within the role.Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to be able to compile from and present to all levels of Client’s organization.Excellent organization skills required with the ability to coordinate tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.Excellent verbal and effective writing skills.Ability to make effective presentations. Proficiency in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and data base management.
