Reddit Social Media marketing Manager – REMOTE – Washington, DCOur client, a major membership-based organization advocating for older adults, is seeking a Reddit Social Media Marketing Manager. In this position you will support community management and community engagement strategy for the organization’s flagship social media accounts, with a specific focus on Reddit. The position will report to the Senior Director, Social Media and Content Integration.You need to have a deep understanding of Reddit’s unique culture and community dynamics, enabling them to effectively manage their brand presence, navigate brand reputation risks, and participate in conversations in ways that feel authentic to the Reddit community and appropriate for the platform.Responsibilities:Tasks will include social media copywriting and content development, social listening and community engagement, stakeholder interaction and collaborating enterprise-wide to ensure community growth and progress toward department and business goals.Support community management, planning and day-to-day execution of their social media strategy and editorial calendar for their brand presence on Reddit, and other flagship channels as needed.Coordinate with internal teams and agencies to manage the development and implementation of social media content that is timely, accurate and effective, and engages and grows their audience.Facilitate day-to-day relationships with internal business units, including but not limited to their Editorial, Strategic Communications, Customer Care, and External Relations teams.Ensure a consistent brand voice on social media platforms, in collaboration with the senior community advisor.Collaborate with marketing managers and social strategists on paid media strategy, ad creative development, and campaign execution, as needed.Collaborate with the senior community advisor and social response/customer care team on community engagement efforts, as appropriate.Grow key metrics and provide regular reporting in line with their overall social media goals and strategy.Develop timely, accurate and effective social media content in close collaboration with director, senior community advisor, social strategists, and internal teams.Create and publish thoughtful posts and community responses that effectively communicate and engage audiences on AARP-owned pages and across the broader Reddit community, including relevant subreddits.Monitor and proactively engage, as appropriate, in relevant subreddits/threads where their brand is mentioned or where they can provide value.Identify and pitch opportunities for them to add value and expertise to the community, including planning and managing relevant AMAs.Update and maintain social media editorial calendars using Airtable and other tools.Provide strategic input and direction for paid campaigns, assuring platform best practices are followed.Create and oversee paid campaign project trackers in Asana and coordinate actions for paid campaigns with marketing managers and agency as necessary.Track KPIs and analyze content performance, providing constructive guidance to better engage communities.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related discipline.4-6 years of experience managing social media platforms for a variety of clients at an agency or large, complex organization, including content strategy, community engagement, copywriting, publishing and paid media.Proven experience managing or growing Reddit communities is required, including a strong understanding of Reddit’s culture, community dynamics, and organic engagement strategies.Experience with paid social media strategies, especially on Reddit, is preferred.Deep expertise in social media content strategy, copywriting and growing/engaging social communities for large organizations and/or brands.Ability to interpret data, analytics, and audience metrics to measure and drive growth.Possesses strong interpersonal skills (e.g., listening, facilitating, managing conflict, flexibility), and ability to foster collaborative business relationships, especially in large, complex and/or matrixed organizations.Working knowledge of third-party social media tools, such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Talkwalker, Reddit Pro Trends, and project management tools, such as AirTable or Asana.Working knowledge and understanding of social communications platforms.
