Our mission is to make sustainable renewable energy always available and almost free, enabling technological advancement while protecting our planet.We're looking for an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design and development of the electrical systems that make our technology work - from power conversion and controls to instrumentation and grid interconnection. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on technical execution. You'll own discrete electrical designs and sub-systems, work closely with senior engineers on broader architecture decisions, and partner across mechanical, controls, and systems teams to bring our product to life.This role is based at our headquarters in Miami, FL, but it could also be in our Austin, TX location. In either case, relocation is required, and relocation assistance will be provided.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical components and sub-systems for thermal battery and power dispatch applicationsCreate schematics, PCB layouts, and technical specifications under the guidance of senior engineers and system architectsPerform electrical analysis, simulation, and validation testing on assigned designsContribute to the design of power electronics, control circuits, instrumentation, and protection systemsWork closely with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teammates to integrate electrical designs into the broader productTroubleshoot electrical issues during prototype builds, bench testing, and field deploymentsEvaluate components and vendor technologies; make recommendations on part selectionEnsure designs meet applicable safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal performance targetsDocument designs, test procedures, and technical findings clearlySupport prototype builds, bring-up, and field testing activitiesKeep current on developments in power electronics, grid integration, and renewable energy systemsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field3+ years of electrical engineering experience, ideally with exposure to power systems or power electronicsWorking knowledge of power electronics, circuit design, and control systemsProficiency with electrical design tools (Altium, EAGLE, KiCad, or similar)Familiarity with simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB, or similar)Understanding of relevant standards (NEC, UL, IEC, IEEE)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsClear technical documentation and communicationPreferred QualificationsExperience with high-voltage or high-power electrical systemsExposure to renewable energy applications (solar inverters, BMS, grid interconnection)Hands-on prototype and field-testing experienceWhat We Offer:Competitive salary and equity options.Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and retirement plans.A dynamic work environment that fosters creativity and innovation.Opportunities for professional growth and development in a rapidly evolving industry.Relocation assistance.We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
