Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support full-cycle accounting and assist with key financial activities in a dynamic, growing organization.This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering a hybrid work schedule and exposure to both accounting operations and financial reporting.Staff Accountant Responsibilities:Support full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, month-end close, and general ledger maintenanceAssist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliationsPrepare and analyze financial statements and management reportsSupport budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisAssist with financial data analysis to support business decisionsMaintain fixed assets and depreciation schedulesEnsure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policiesSupport audits by preparing schedules and responding to requestsCollaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership teamsRequirements of the Staff Accountant:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required3+ years of accounting and finance experience, preferably in a full-cycle roleStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principlesExperience assisting with budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis preferredProficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft ExcelAscendo is a certified minority owned staffing firm, we welcome and celebrate diversity.
